Rhassoul Clay Benefits

Rhassoul clay is a type of clay that some people use as a cosmetic product for their skin and hair. It’s a brown clay only found in a valley in the Atlas mountains of Morocco. The term “rhassoul” comes from an Arabic word that means “to wash.”

Rhassoul clay hasn’t been extensively studied for its benefits for skin and hair. But it has been used by several different cultures for over a thousand years as a cosmetic ingredient.

Benefits of Rhassoul Clay :

  •  Can increase skin elasticity, even skin tone, reduce blemishes and blackheads, and reduce skin dryness or flakiness
  • Used as a natural shampoo or hair rinse to cleanse and refresh hair follicles
  • Rhassoul can also be combined with other ingredients to make an exfoliating and smoothing scrub.
  • Can be used as natural colorant in DIY cosmetic products and soaps to achieve beige    color.
  • Relaxing Bath:

You can add a cup of this magical ingredient in your bathtub along with a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Soak in it for about 20 minutes. At the end of this session, you will feel relaxed and rejuvenated as the clay will soak all the toxins and dead skin from your body.

    Hydrating Face Mask:

If you have dry skin, you can combine rhassoul clay with a few teaspoons of coconut milk or cream. This will create a moisturizing face mask that you can apply all over your face and neck or in the region affected by eczema. Keep it on for a few minutes and then rinse off with water.

    Hair Cleanser:

If you want healthy and beautiful locks, ditch your chemical shampoo and use rhassoul clay to clean your hair. To turn it into a cleanser, combine rhassoul clay with rose water or bottled purified water. Wet your hair and massage this cleaner onto your scalp and hair. Rinse with cold water.

    Anti-Dandruff Mask:

Combine the rhassoul clay with apple cider vinegar. Both the ingredients are known to remove any mineral build-up that might have been caused due to excess sebum production, hard water, or shampoo. Keep the mask in your hair for 10 minutes and then rinse off.
